Frank Hagan

Frank Hagan joins us after more than 30 years in the entertainment Industry. He has produced national and local television shows covering the clock from morning to night time!  He’s worked in DC, NYC, LA, ATL, Las Vegas, Miami, Chicago, and Kuala Lumpur. He’s been a producer on numerous multi-Emmy award-winning national talk syndicated talk shows (Donahue, Oprah); prime-time cable reality shows, concerts, comedy programs, award shows, and more.  He was the Programming Director and General Manager of QTN, one of the (then) 3 Gay TV Cable Networks. He was nominated for his work on Donahue and recognized by GLAAD for QTN.  He now works in developing projects in reality and scripted areas for streaming platforms.

His reputation for producing solid and marketable program ideas stemmed from his years on Talk TV where you “had to come up with a new show idea each week, 39 weeks a year!” Over time, his contacts and references in TV now run from top Execs at networks, premium cable, streaming services, the film industry, and even Broadway.

As the world of 90’s talk moved into trash talk, he stepped away and began producing in other areas. He went to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to work for Astro TV. When he returned, his scripted series EARTHBOUND, a science fiction series was optioned by the animation house Film Roman (The Simpson, Futurama) as their first live-action series. He also had options on projects including one called “The Cruisers” based on the 80’s film “Eddie and the Cruisers” for which he optioned the book and the movie rights to both films.

In 1999 he worked for the legendary Woody Fraser as the Co-Executive in charge of Production for I-BASH, an innovative (for its time) $20 million, ten-hour live and Internet concert (with a two-hour edited version for TV broadcast) at the MGM Grand starring The Who, KISS, Lee Ann Rhymes, Faith Hill, Tony Bennett, Sugar Ray, Natalie Cole, and other top performers. It was said, “we ate up most of the west coast broadband airing it.”

Frank spent his next years working for Termite Art, Creative Differences, Lionsgate TV, and Q Television. He produced shows for Discovery, ION/Paxnet, History Channel, Court TV, and Relativity Media.  As the co-exec producer and co-owner of a one-hour talk pilot for Relativity/Bite Sized — “Politics is a Drag” was born.  It’s a political talk show hosted by comedian Michael Airington.  It may only have reached “shot the pilot” status, but it still lives on in social media, with impressive current numbers and analytics with Facebook, Daily Motion, Instagram, and Twitter (no TikTok!)  He worked wearing numerous hats as a Production Coordinator, Line Producer, and Producer of “The Weekly Show.” This clever new comedy ‘news magazine’ improv show aired on TV One and starred “Groundlings: The Black Experience.”

Most recently, he was a Consulting Producer to Electric Entertainment’s ElectricNOW! for the live broadcast of the 50th Anniversary of The Saturn Awards (covering Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Horror). He also spent 5 years as a regular weekly panelist as one of “The Demons of Decadence” on Outlaw Internet Radio.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, Electric Entertainment is an independent studio headed by veteran producer Dean Devlin along with his partners Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson. Dean is responsible for such blockbuster films as Stargate, Independence Day 1 & 2, The Patriot, GeoStorm, and Bad Samaritan. Electric is a full-service production and distribution company with a satellite office in Vancouver, Canada.

On television, Dean Devlin and Electric have produced such programs as Leverage, its reboot Leverage Redemption, The Librarians, The Outpost, Almost Paradise, and The Ark.

Electric Entertainment’s streaming service, ElectricNOW! is a popular and growing linear OTT FAST Channel available on all major platforms.
